ZenCut
Your recording.
Already clipped.
ZenCut finds the moments worth sharing in your podcast or talking-head video and turns them into captioned vertical clips. Ask for other edits in plain words. You review every change before it happens.
Free during early access. Runs in desktop Chrome or Edge, nothing to install.1
The problem
The recording was
the easy part.
An hour of good conversation turns into a week of clips to post, and every one starts with the same chores.
-
Scrub for the good part.
Listen back to the whole hour to find the 30 seconds that stand on their own.
-
Cut the ums by hand.
Pause by pause, filler word by filler word, on a timeline.
-
Caption every word.
Feeds autoplay on mute, so each clip needs captions that keep time.
-
Reframe for each platform.
YouTube wants 16:9, the feed wants 1:1, Shorts and Reels want 9:16.
ZenCut does the first pass of each. You keep the final say.

Captions that keep time. Style them once, reuse them everywhere.
-
Every format from one project.
-
Nothing changes until you say so.

like a document.
Click any word to jump there. Select a sentence and delete it, and it's gone from the video. Filler words and long pauses are marked, so you can clear them in one pass.
So the um biggest mistake I made early on was uh trying to sound like somebody else. 1.4 s Once I just talked the way I talk, people started like, actually listening.
Removed 3 filler words and 1 pause.
One project.
Every format.

Describe an edit
Just say
what you want.
Type an edit the way you'd ask an editor: cut this, add a title, make it vertical. ZenCut answers with a plan, drawn on your timeline before anything changes. Keep what you like. One undo takes it all back.

ZenCut is made for podcasters, educators, coaches and small content teams who publish from long recordings every week.
It isn't a replacement for your full editor, and it doesn't make video from text. It does one job: turning the recording you already have into clips you're happy to post.
Early access
Help shape ZenCut.
We're working with a small group of creators who publish from long recordings. Bring a real episode; we'll turn it into clips together and learn where ZenCut falls short.
You get
- Free access during early access
- A working session on one of your own recordings
- A direct line to the person building it
- A say in what gets built next
We ask
- A 30-minute chat about how you edit today
- Honest feedback after trying it on your content
Questions? Answers.
Is it free?
Yes, during early access. Paid plans will come later, and design partners hear about pricing before anything changes for them.
Do I need to install anything?
No. ZenCut runs in a desktop browser; Chrome and Edge work best today. The first transcription downloads a speech model once, which takes a minute.
Can I use it on my phone?
Not yet. Editing needs a desktop or laptop with Chrome or Edge. You can still sign up from your phone and try it on your computer later.
What recordings can I bring?
Video or audio your browser can play, up to 3 hours and 4 GB per file. MP4 and WebM work best; MOV works when it uses H.264.
Where does my video go?
Transcription runs on your computer, in the browser, so that step doesn't upload your recording. Cloud features, such as server export and typed edit requests, store your media with ZenCut to process it. We'll walk you through where it's stored and for how long before you upload anything.
What can I ask for in my own words?
Cuts, trims and splits, removing pauses and filler words, titles and other text, captions, highlight clips and format changes. ZenCut reads your transcript, so you can refer to what was said, like cut the part about pricing
. If it can't do part of a request, it tells you instead of guessing.
How good are the suggestions?
Good enough to start from, not good enough to skip reviewing, which is why every suggestion waits for your OK. Measuring and improving them on real recordings is exactly what early access is for.
Which languages work?
English works best. Other languages use a multilingual speech model, with lower accuracy for now.
Can I finish a clip in Premiere or Resolve?
You can bring the exported video file into any editor. ZenCut doesn't export project files (XML or EDL) for other editors yet; tell us if you need that.
Will it replace my editor?
Probably not, and it isn't trying to. ZenCut does one job: turning long recordings into short clips. For anything else, keep the editor you have.
